An intestinal problem has forced President Jonathan to cancel a planned surprise visit to the Super Eagles in South Africa, medical sources in London said today.
The Nigeria president, who is on a whirlwind three-nation trip to Egypt, the United Kingdom and France, had planned to surprise the Super Eagles in South Africa following their qualification for the final of the African Cup of Nations last Wednesday.
However, in London Mr. Jonathan came down with an intestinal disorder referred to as Amoebic Colitis and he underwent testing at the London Clinic on Harley Street. The clinic is highly favoured by Nigeria’s rich and powerful.
A medical source told Saharareporters that Mr. Jonathan's situation is not worrisome but that the persistent nature of the condition meant the president had to undergo some screenings. It was not clear why he did not undertake the screenings in Abuja, where State House has an excellent clinic manned by a largely idle staff.
Meanwhile, former Nigerian dictator Ibrahim Badamosi Babangida was also sighted at the InterContinental
Supersport International has suspended controversial soccer analyst Mamadou Gaye following a complaint by ‘powerful’ FAZ president Kalusha Bwalya and other officials from the Confederations of African Football.
Mamadou was blunt about Zambia’s dubious penalty against Nigeria on January 25 calling it “bogus” and a “shame” to the standards of officiating in Africa.
The Ivorian commentator, one of the most popular penalist on SuperSport, accused Kalusha – a CAF executive committee member – of being a blue-eyed boy of Issa Hayatou while on set.
Mamadou alleged that Kalusha’s closeness to Hayatou – the longtime CAF president – had earned Chipolopolo some favours from referees.
Zambia were gifted a rather controversial penalty in a Group C fixture against Nigeria which leveled scorers at 1-all with goalkeeper Kennedy Mweene stepping up to expertly convert the spot-kick and snatch a point

There is danger on the Niger Bridge, which links Onitsha, the commercial nerve centre of Anambra State and Asaba, the Delta State capital. Owing to wears and tears, the bridge is on the verge of collapse.
Indeed, if Niger Bridge were human, her uncontrollable cries, wailing and weeping could have reached the high heaven. This is because, at 48, the bridge has been constantly over-used and stretched beyond its limit and capacity without properly taken care of. Each time a vehicle, especially heavy duty truck, passes the bridge, figuratively, cringes and makes a cranky noise to demonstrate its anguish, pains and sorrow.
The evidence of the bad state of the Niger Bridge manifested during the last Christmas, as South easterners and South southerners travelled home. Commuters, from both ends of the bridge, spent more time crossing over than before. Most of them spent about six hours on the queue, waiting to cross the bridge. To cross the

Only one day after same sex marriage has been made legal in some of the countries, thousand of gay couples have already filed for divorce, claiming that they have made “a huge mistake”, local sources are reporting.
According to our sources, about 2.400 people have showed up this morning in front of the Baltimore court house with their attorneys, demanding that their one day marriages would be quickly annulled.
“I think we rushed into this,” said Roger Graham, newlywed homosexual. “I clearly wasn’t thinking yesterday when I got married to Steve, for God’s sake, I can’t spend the rest of my life with a man who doesn’t love the same organic food restaurants as I do, no matter how cute he is,” added Mr. Graham.
While many of the gathered in front of the Baltimore court house have stated that “in the heat of the moment they weren’t really thinking clearly”, others said that the second they got married, their relationship has

In what is being described as one of the most unfortunate events in recent UAE history, the PMS calendars of the Sheik’s wives became synchronized and created a terrible headache for everyone involved.
His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Zayed Khalifa, one of the richest men in the United Arab Emirates, first heard about the disaster from his eunuch, sources within the palace report. In the meantime, the troubled man managed to answer a few quick questions from media representatives.
“Back when I only had two wives I could maybe handle a couple of mood swinging, bloated, depressed, angry and resentful chocolate-eating monsters at a time, but with just one more than that you’re as good as dead. I was convinced that this would never happen with all forty of them at the same time – I mean, what

The National Stadium pitch that will host Sunday’s Afcon finale has recently been redone with material that enables it to accommodate activities other than footballSunday’s Africa Cup of Nations final match between Nigeria and Burkina Faso will be played on semi artificial grass at the National Stadium, otherwise known as Soccer City.
Constructed for the 2010 World Cup, the 94,736 capacity stadium has recently undergone some renovation to the playing surface in order to make it able to host other activities like music concerts and other non-sport events.
“We decided to rip out the pitch in the middle of December last year and installed a brand new 50 percent artificial pitch,” said an official quoted by The Star. “We are 100 percent comfortable the pitch conforms to Fifa regulations. I still believe it’s one of the better pitches in the country at the moment.”
Last weekend, United States band Red Hot Chilli Peppers performed on the pitch.
As the super eagles file out on Sunday to claim the afcon 2013 final match against a very resilient Burkina Faso team, a lot of close soccer analysts have been puzzled with the way an unimpresive eagles at the group stage of the competition suddenly transformed into a delight to watch at the knock out stage of the same competition. A Ghanian friend asked me a question online immediately after the semi final tramping of the Malians and his question was 'how and when did Nigeria learn to play such good football?, tho he still boasted that the black stars would "clip the eagles wing in the final match" (typical Ghanian arrogance) not knowing Burkina Faso would deal with them later that night even with all the referee s abrakadabra.
Having watched the super eagles closely under the big boss, i have realized the team had always been highly tactical (read Johan Cruyff's comment about the eagles after the 1- 1 draw against his Catalona tutored side.)
A lot of us have been so distracted to realize that the eagles have not lost a single game in about their last 15

The Grammy Awards have seen enough of your private parts.
In an unusually frank email to attendees of this Sunday's music-awards show, CBS has identified – rather bluntly – exactly which body parts it doesn't want to see exposed by those swanky designer outfits.
"Please be sure that buttocks and female bosoms are adequately covered," reads the email, obtained by Deadline.com. "Thong type costumes are problematic. Please avoid exposing bare fleshy under curves of the buttocks and buttock crack. Bare sides or under curvature of the bosoms is also problematic."
The missive continues: "Please avoid sheer see-through clothing that could possibly expose female bosom unmentionables. Please be sure the Core region is adequately covered so that there is no visible 'puffy' bare skin exposure."

A real-life vampire is addicted to drinking human blood according to doctors. On Feb. 8, NBC News reported that a 23-year-old married man living in Turkey is actually a vampire -- or at least, he appears to be. His addiction to blood is actually as essential as breathing.
"The man was arrested several times after stabbing and biting others to collect and drink their blood. He apparently even got his father to get him bags of the ghastly drink from blood banks," NBC News reported. Strange things have also happened in his life that suggest that he's more than just some run of the mill "freak."
The real-life vampire isn't only addicted to blood. He also has showcased multiple personalities. "The man had been seen talking to himself, and he claimed to be tormented by an 'imaginary companion' who forced him to carry out violent acts and attempt suicide. He also had memory gaps in his daily life and reported instances of being in a new place without any idea of how he got there," reads the report.
Before becoming crazy -- or vampire-like -- the young man went through some traumatic events. His daughter died at just 4-months-old after falling ill... he saw his uncle get murdered... and he witnessed
Tiger Woods appears to be following the standard dating protocol with his rumored girlfriend, gold-medal skier Lindsey Vonn.
Early in the relationship: Pay for dinners and movies.
Later on: Go to slightly-nicer dinners, maybe surprise her with some roses.

He's playing it by the book.
Though Vonn has claimed she and Tiger are just friends, reports out of Europe say the golf superstar sent his private plane to fetch Vonn after she suffered a catastrophic knee injury on the slopes this week.
This is the story of a young boy whose parents were murdered during 2002 riots in Kaduna.
He was aged 11 years at the time. His parents, Mr Austine and Mrs Josephine Moses, were missionaries until they met their untimely death. The boy left his house to play football but returned home and learned painful truth that he would never see his mother and father again.
He was taken to London by his uncle almost immediately after the incident. While in London, he began deploying his football skills.
Though his parents were murdered, his passion for football was never killed. He played football for his school and later for a local Tandrige League club until Crystal Palace FC approached him. From that point, his career progressed in leaps and bounds.
This player played for England’s under 16, 17, 19 and 21 teams between 2005 and 2010 scoring 11 goals for England during this period. He later moved to Wigan Athletic and now he plays for Chelsea.
This footballer is called VICTOR MOSES.

Khalida Akhtar, a 20-year-old Taliban suicide bomber, decided at the last minute not to blow herself up at the main train station in the capitol of Pakistan because she remembered that she would have to deal with a bunch of virgin guys in heaven, local authorities say.
Ms. Akhtar, who was dressed in a head-to-toe burqa and strapped with explosives, was seen just hours ago running and screaming through the Islamabad Railway Station before she was apprehended by local law enforcement.
“The young woman realized that she would have 72 virgins on her hands if she sacrificed her earthly life, and apparently the thought made her so sick to her stomach that she decided on the spot to pull the plug on the whole operation and give herself up to the authorities,” police officer Malik Rashid told reporters. In a statement recorded by arresting officers, Ms. Akhtar explained her decision.

PORT MORESBY, Papua New Guinea (AP) — A mob stripped, tortured and bound a woman accused of witchcraft, then burned her alive in front of hundreds of witnesses in a Papua New Guinea town, police said Friday after one of the highest profile sorcery-related murders in this South Pacific island nation.
Hundreds of bystanders, including many children, watched and some took photographs of Wednesday’s brutal slaying. Grisly pictures were published on the front pages of the country’s biggest circulating newspapers, The National and Post-Courier, while the prime minister, police and diplomats condemned the killing.
In rural Papua New Guinea, witchcraft is often blamed for unexplained misfortunes. Sorcery has traditionally been countered by sorcery, but retaliations have become increasingly violent in recent years.
The death was the first sorcery-related murder in Papua New Guinea in a year, national police spokesman Dominic Kakas said.
Kepari Leniata, a 20-year-old mother, had been accused of sorcery by relatives of a 6-year-old boy who

Former FCT minister Mallam El-Rufai wrote a memoir titled The Accidental Public Servant which was unveiled in Abuja today, and in the book he criticized a few politicians...one of them former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar. In the book, El-Rufai described Atiku as a corrupt power hungry politician and alleged that he (El-Rufai) had almost resigned as the former Director General of the Bureau of Public Enterprises (BPE) because of persistent pressure and interference by Atiku, who was then the Chairman of the National Council on Privatization
Atiku has reacted to the content of the book, calling it a collection of fiction and exaggeration.
It amazes me that El Rufai can pass off fiction for self-gratification at the expense of truth as a book. El-Rufai's attack on my person is to say the least not surprising considering that this is the same man who has notoriety for disparaging religions and their icons, including lately Jesus
Upcoming rapper AP.9 is back, and this time he's claiming he had unprotected sex with Ice T's wife, Coco Austin. AP.9 and Coco were involved in a scandal in December 2012 after suggestive photos of the two hit the internet. Coco claimed at the time that AP.9 was just a fan, but the rapper said there was more. Now he's claiming that he had unprotected sex with Coco. Below is what he told Star magazine.
“I first met Coco at Surrender Nightclub. She invited me to her table; I had a couple of drinks; we exchanged numbers. I could tell we had a physical attraction. She asked me, ‘What are you doing after the club?’ I said, ‘I’m probably just going to get a room and stay right here.’ She said, ‘Well, I’m going with you.’
We had sex. I don’t know who made the first move. It wasn’t making love; it was just sex. We
