“A true man of God will never take sides” – Niger-Delta bishops have a strong message for Oritsejafor

The Bishops and Clerics Forum of Nigeria (BAFCON) has threatened to take legal action against the South South Chairman of the Christian Association of Nigeria over its suspension.
The BAFCON spokesperson described their suspension as nonsensical alleging that the National President of CAN, Pastor Ayo Oritsejafor rushed into conclusion in supporting their suspension.
The South South Chairman of CAN, Archbishop God-Dowell Avwomakpa had announced the suspension of the BAFCON over their alleged moves to reconcile President Goodluck Jonathan with the seven Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) breakaway governors.
The members were suspended for “dabbling into politics” which according to CAN is unacceptable.
Read the Vanguard report below:

But in a statement signed by the BACFON President, Prophet Jones Ode-Erue, made available to Vanguard, the group argued that it was not true that their interest was only on the G-7governors, emphasizing that “ that our consultations has been centered on injustice, impunity, declension in

Opinion: Dear CBN, no bank is too big to fail

Sanusi-lamido-Sanusi2

The Apex Bank need to critically monitor these said “Too Big to Fail” Banks as the profit they pose are of seventh heaven with no equal staff euphoria. To buttress my point; take Guaranty Trust Bank for example – it posted a PBT of N100billion in the last financial year and sacked 100 staffs(assumably, the laggards) yet fail to promote or encourage the transcendent(s).

On Monday 11 November, 2013, The Deputy Governor (Operations) of the Central Bank of Nigeria, Mr. Tunde Lemo listed about eight banks that are “Too Big to Fail”. These Banks include; First Bank, Zenith Bank, Guaranty Trust Bank, United Bank for Africa, Ecobank, Access Bank and Diamond Bank.
“The CBN believes that failure of any of the eight banks which account for 75% of the banking sector ( in terms of earnings, profitability, assets, customer deposits and branch network) could pose a systematic risk to the banking industry and the larger economy.”
Now, aside downright demarketing of other banks which makes customers to lose their confidence, reliance and tenacity, there is no such thing as “Too Big to Fail”. There is NO bank in Nigeria that has the liquidity

Vera Ezimora: Dear Ann Coulter, to have multiple orgasms from a Nigerian Prince, Press 1 – again

ann coulter2

Yesterday on Nigerian Twitter, people were pissed about Ann Coulter’s latest article, titles, “To Speak To A Nigerian Prince About Your Health Care, Press 1 Now.” If you’re wondering what on earth she’s talking about, it’s about Obama’s healthcare website that isn’t working. So what does this have to do with Nigeria? Nothing. Absolutely nothing. Not a damn thing.
You know, I get humor. I appreciate humor in any piece of writing. If she had stopped at just including Nigerian in the title, maybe it wouldn’t be so bad. But she had so much more to say about Nigeria and Nigerians. She had so much to say that one might forget that this article isn’t actually about Nigeria or Nigerians, nor do we have anything to do with Obama’s website and its functionality or lack thereof. Here are a few excerpts:

“Do you notice anything that stands out about the list of convicts? Would any of their names have sounded strange to Ben Franklin? Of 22 people convicted of defrauding American taxpayers by fraudulently billing Medicare or Medicaid, at least 17 have almost comically foreign names.”
So Ann wants us to go back to the time of Ben Franklin? News flash, old woman, we’re way beyond that

She also bares her mind on her present fate: "Man proposes and God disposes. So people should keep their fingers crossed and pray for me to meet the bone of my bone and the flesh of my flesh and not somebody else. It is one of my dreams to bear children soon and I believe it will come to pass soon. Once I start my

APC Vows To Reject Anambra Election Result Due To Disenfranchised Voters

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has warned that it will not accept the results of Saturday’s governorship election in Anambra state if voting does not take place in all local governments, especially in the party’s strongholds of Idemili North and South as well as Akwa South.

In a statement issued in Lagos on Saturday by its Interim National Publicity Secretary, Alhaji Lai Mohammed, the party also condemned INEC for its apparently-contrived logistic nightmare that has left thousands of voters unable to exercise their franchise, and demanded the immediate removal of the Resident Electoral Commissioner for Anambra, Prof. Chukwuemeka Onukogu.

APC said it was totally astonished to learn that INEC has confirmed that materials meant for Idemili North Local Government, which has 180,000 voters, have been hijacked, without saying who hijacked the ballot papers and why, and without explaining why the materials meant for APGA and PDP strongholds were not

GROUND-BREAKING: Death is an Illusion, There is an Afterlife - Scientists

photo - GROUND-BREAKING: Death Is Illusion, There IS An Afterlife - Scientists
Professor Robert Lanza of Wake Forest University School of Medicine in North Carolina, U.S.

Most scientists agree that the concept of an afterlife is at the very least cannot be proved. Yet, there is one expert who claims he has evidence to confirm an existence beyond the grave - and it lies in quantum physics.
Professor Robert Lanza claims the theory of biocentrism teaches that death as we know it is an illusion created by our consciousness.
"We think life is just the activity of carbon and an admixture of molecules – we live a while and then rot into the ground," says the scientist.
Lanza, from Wake Forest University School of Medicine in North Carolina, U.S., continued that as humans we believe in death because 'we've been taught we die', or more specifically, our consciousness associates life with bodies and we know that bodies die.
His theory of biocentrism, however, explains that death may not be as terminal as we think it is.

Anambra Elections: PDP candidate, Nwoye’s name missing in voters register

Nwoye at the Polling unit

NSUGBE – THE Governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP in the Anambra, Mr. Tony Nwoye could not vote in Saturday’s election as he could not find his name in the voter’s register at his Nsugbe Ward 1 polling booth in Anambra East Local Government Area.

Also, his parents were unable to vote just as he alleged that over 30 percent of his supporters were disenfranchised as they could not trace their names in the register.

INEC officials on ground could not give reasons for the omission of their names even when they  were all carrying valid voters card. Nwoye who spoke to reporters said the rigging of the election was pre-planned and the style adopted by APGA in connivance with INEC was to remove people’s name from the voter’s register especially in areas where APGA lacked support. Nwoye said the same list that was used to disenfranchise him and his parents was the same list that we used in voting in the last election and wondered

How The New Governor Of Anambra State Is Emerging

A sizeable proportion of the 1.87 million voters in Anambra State is expected to participate in the election of a new governor for the 22-year-old state. Any of the candidates of the various political parties, who emerges as governor, would take oath of office on March 17, 2014.

The last time the people of Anambra voted on February 6, 2010, more than half of the voting population could not find their names in the voters’ register. At the end of the day, only about 300,000 people voted, just a little less than 20 per cent of the voting population.

But today, according to Punch, all the participants in the election have certified that the voters’ register is in good shape after several reviews by the Independent National Electoral Commission.

The race had been long and windy for most of the candidates. But at the end of the day 23 men, no woman,

It has long been known that the bone structure of people’s faces determines their beauty and marks them out as a suitable mate.
According to this comparison, African women with African noses or features aren''t beautiful then ..rolls

There are strong indications that the Federal Road Safety Corps is shielding the alleged driver of the convoy vehicle that caused the accident which killed a former president of the Academic Staff Union of Universities, Prof. Festus Iyayi at Banda village, near Lokoja, Kogi State on Tuesday.
The Kogi State FRSC sector commander, Olakunle Motajo, speaking with journalist in Abuja on the telephone said that the report of the investigation into the accident was not ready.
Motajo “The report is not ready yet, we are still working on it; don’t worry, I will call you whenever it is ready,” he said and terminated the phone call.
Calls made to his phone to ask him further questions were not responded to.
The corps had blamed ‘wrongful overtaking’ by the convoy vehicle for the accident, saying its preliminary investigation showed that the driver of the pick-van was to blame for the crash.
Motajo, who said this in a previous interview, however, recanted when he was contacted on Wednesday.
“Motajo said, “I never blamed the governor’s convoy for the crash, and I didn’t speak to anyone

Health: Avoid These Foods If You Want To Have Kids

In this part of the world, few things can rock a marriage as quickly as either of the partners being declared infertile. Medically, infertility is stated as being unable to get pregnant after a year of unprotected sex. According to experts, both men and women can be infertile and while a third of cases may be linked to female infertility, another third is usually caused by male infertility and the last third by contributing factors from both the man and woman.
As far as female infertility goes, quite a number of factors have been put forth to be causes. They include cervical problems, hormonal flux that affects ovulation, abnormalities in the uterus and damage to the fallopian tubes arising from pelvic infections and surgeries as well as endometriosis. While these are some basic causes, it has also been established that a percentage of infertile cases are undeterminable.
Some situations increase the likelihood of infertility and they include age, stress, athletic training, being overweight or underweight, smoking, excess alcohol consumption, sexually transmitted infections (STIs) and health problems that cause hormonal changes. One factor that is usually overlooked is usually one’s diet. As

N3bn Fraud Mess: Governors PA Slumps and Dies

Aminu Gwandu, a personal assistant to Kebbi State governor unexpectedly slumped to death on Thursday in Birni Kebbi, the state capital, after he allegedly got signals that the EFCC was closing in on him in respect of a N3billion fraud in the accounts of the state government.

Atto was taken to Abuja for interrogation by the EFCC to throw light on the alleged diversion of the N3bn into private accounts.

China to ease 1-child policy, abolish labour camps

China's leaders have announced the first significant easing of the country's one-child policy in nearly 30 years and moved to abolish an often-abused labour camp system, while vowing some of the most ambitious economic reforms in recent Chinese history.

The long-debated changes to the family planning rules and labour camp system address deeply unpopular programs at a time when the Communist Party feels increasingly alienated from the public.

The extent of the changes surprised some analysts. They were contained in a policy document issued after a four-day meeting of party leaders in Beijing one year after Xi Jinping took the country's helm.

The leaders pledged to open state-owned industries to more competition, improve anti-corruption efforts and make the legal system more fair, while signalling their firm intention to keep the country's one-party
