On numerous occasions analysts have spolen about the similarity between the Nigerian terrorist group and Islamic State (IS) operating in Iraq, and now  they suggest that the pronouncement might be connected with Shekau’s desire to get more media attention like IS.

5-year-old girl sustains horrific injuries after being allegedly attacked in school (PHOTOS)

5 year old AvaLynn was nearly disfigured when she was allegedly attacked by another pupil at her Elementary school in Mississippi this week. The most bizarre thing about this story is that the school is maintaining that she was not attacked, rather she got the horrific injuries in an accident while playing on the playground. Makes no sense. This looks more like a vicious attack to me.

Her mother and other relatives have opened a Facebook page for the young girl to tell what happened to her and share photos of her injuries, while seeking for justice. Below is what they wrote on the Facebook page about the incident...
"On Tuesday, August 26, 2014, Lacey Harris was called go come pick up her daughter at Arlington Elementary School in Pascagoula, Mississippi, because AvaLynn had been injured in an accident. The sight Lacey found when she got to Ava's school was a parents' nightmare: her face swollen, cut, and bruised beyond recognition."

"When lions want to overtake a pride, the old lions fight with the new ones. But seeing two lion brothers fighting, one against the other is a very rare sighting. We were very lucky to witness it, and both lions unfortunately ended up with serious wounds. But that's just what happens in the wild and we would never interfere with nature." Laurent said
She also said just 15 minutes after the lions finished scrapping, the triumphant brother went and mated with his lioness as a prize. See photos of the fight below:

People should learn from my past marriage – Saidi Balogun

Popular movie producer and actor, Saidi Balogun, is unhappy and the reason is connected to piracy that has hit his business. It is said that pirates have dubbed several copies of his new movie, You or I, despite recent campaigns against piracy in the country.
Balogun urged the government to do more to check piracy in the movie industry, adding that it had greatly affected his business.
He said, “I don’t know why it is majorly the Yoruba movie industry and independent film makers that are mostly affected by piracy. All I know is that my new movie, You or I, has been pirated and it has made me incur debts. I want the government to please look into it because my life is being pirated away. Government has often said that the movie industry is a major source of employment. If that is true, then government should save the industry by stamping out piracy; it will save us.”

‘I started armed robbery after Ogboni Confraternity failed me’ - Robbery Suspect

Have you ever been hit from the rear by a motorcycle while driving?

If yes, never attempt to alight to check the damages done on your vehicle, or exchange words with the erring motorcyclist, particularly if the rider is not alone. This is because you could fall prey to robbers who have devised such method to snatch vehicles from unsuspecting motorists.

This admonition is coming on the heels of the arrest of four suspected members of a robbery gang who specialised in snatching vehicles from their owners at gun point, by operatives of the Ogun State Command Special Anti Robbery Squad, using such method.

One significant trait about this robbery gang is its penchant for posh cars, preferably Toyota Camry cars and jeeps. Its members who reside in Ogun state, as gathered, travel to other states in the south west region to operate and thereafter, sell the stolen cars at give away prices to ready buyers in Lagos state.

Crime Guard gathered that the armed gang stormed Agbara area of Ogun state last month, where they blocked their victim who slowed down on reaching a bad spot, with their operational motorcycle. They

The truth is that Justina and I were not legally married, we were planning for our traditional marriage in October and she just got this job. She was a qualified graduate nurse and got the job at the First Consultant Hospital in Lagos. She resumed duty at the hospital on the 21st of July, while Patrick Sawyer was admitted at the hospital on the 20th.He was her first patient.
She was one of the nurses that nursed him. She was pregnant and so her immune system was weak, which made it easy for her to contract the disease. On that first day which was a Monday, she was having some pregnancy symptoms, but I just encouraged her to go because it was her first day at work. Sawyer was her first patient.
The next day, Tuesday, she didn’t work on Sawyer. Wednesday and Thursday, she was off. Then on Friday, Patrick Sawyer died. They didn’t know he had Ebola, it was three days later

Please no more handshake, keep your hands in your pocket until we contain the disease”.

The foregoing were the words of Governor Chibuike Amaechi in Government House, Port Harcourt four days after the first death was recorded from Ebola virus in the state.

Though it is not in any law book in the state but it is now like a taboo to shake hands in Government House, Port Harcourt. This new culture that came with the first recorded case of death from Ebola virus is gradually becoming the norm in several parts of the state.

The whole of last week, friends, colleagues and business associates who ordinarily would shake hands as part of their greetings and exchange of banters merely waved or cup their right fist in the air, saying “ I greet you in Jesus name” or “ Ebola greetings”.

The state government had consistently maintained that there was no Ebola case in the state until last week Thursday when the Commissioner  for Health, Dr Sampson Parker announced with a heavy heart the first

2015 presidential race: Cold war in APC, Buhari rebuffs younger presidential aspirants

A cold war has broken out among presidential aspirants in the All Progressives Congress, APC following reported entreaties by younger elements among the contenders to persuade erstwhile head of state, Gen. Muhammadu Buhari out of the contest.

The party also called on past leaders of the country to salvage the country from total collapse in the hands of present administration.

National chairman of the party Chief John Oyegun made the call when he led top members of the party to the Up Hill resident of former military president, General Ibrahim Babangida on a courtesy visit Thursday night.APC-protest-INEC

He noted that with what was going on in the country, Nigeria’s future was very bleak both economically and socially with the electorate left to suffer from the mismanagement of the country’s resources and that it was now left for the past leaders to join hands together to bring the country to its right path.

However, Buhari, the object of the alleged gang-up, meanwhile has travelled abroad for what sources told

Boko Haram: Prove you are not a weak president, Wale Oke tells Jonathan

Presiding Bishop, The Sword of the Spirit Ministries, Bishop Francis Wale Oke has said President Goodluck Jonathan should prove to Nigerians that they do not have weakling and lame duck as leaders by dealing decisively with the Islamic sect, Boko Haram for declaring a caliphate in Gwoza.

Oke said Nigerians it was amazing that since the insurgents had hoisted their illegal flag in Gwoza, the FG had not taken any swift reaction in dealing with the situation and to make matters worse, about 480 soldiers defected to another place.

While warning that the FG should go with all its might to stop the insurgents, he said Boko Haram was following the scripts of Islamic State in Iraq and that holding arms akimbo after such a treasonable declaration would be very antithetical to the unity and oneness of the country.

The cleric said this ahead of the Holy Ghost convention which begins on Sunday. Bishop Wale Oke further explained the refusal of some military men to confront the insurgents meant that they were ill-equipped.

South African Woman Sues Hospital N93m after She Gave Birth to Down's Syndrome Baby

A South African woman is going to the country's constitutional court to claim thousands of pounds in damages after a medical centre failed to diagnose her son with Down's syndrome.

The woman, identified only as Ms H. to protect the identity of her child, is arguing her son represents a "wrongful life," as she would have aborted the foetus if she had been told by the clinic it was at a high risk of having Down's syndrome. She is seeking £368,742 (N93million) in damages on behalf of her child, who has severe Down's syndrome and needs constant care, according to court documents.

News of the South African case comes days after Richard Dawkins, a high-profile philosopher, apologised after tweeting that if a woman had a foetus with Down's syndrome she should: "Abort it and try again. It would be immoral to bring it into the world if you have the choice."

Earlier this month, there was also an uproar after Australian parents were accused of abandoning their male

Ebola Drug Zmapp Confirmed 100% Effective in Treating Infected Monkeys

Hopes of a breakthrough in the fight against Ebola have been raised by the 100 per cent successful treatment of monkeys with the deadly disease.

According to a new research published in a special report on Nature journal's website, the experimental drug ZMapp cured the animals even when administered five days after infection, while they were displaying severe symptoms. All 18 rhesus macaques made a complete recovery, in contrast to three other untreated monkeys that quickly fell seriously ill and died.

ZMapp is a blend of three laboratory-made antibodies designed to neutralise the virus. Two U.S. doctors given the drug after they were infected with Ebola while working in Liberia subsequently recovered. But it is not known whether they were saved by the drug or just lucky. About 45 per cent of those infected in the current outbreak have survived without treatment. At least two other patients treated with ZMapp have died, possibly because help got to them too late.
