It was horror at the home of Super Eagles player, Ogenyi Onazi on Monday, as dare devils visited his Plateau home where they inflicted injuries on his dad. The robbers had visited around 1:40pm inthe afternoon pretending to deliver a letter to him, soon as he collected the letter, they tied him up, beat him and cut him with machete.
Onazi who said the robbers took their time to invade his home said they went away with undisclosed amount of cash, a white Toyota Highlander and other valuables. While speaking on the incident, the footballer said;
Onazi added: “Those robbers came, pretending they were there to deliver a letter to my dad at about
1.40pm on Monday, as soon as he collected their fake letter and asked where it was coming from they swooped on him, tied his hands, beat him up, inflicting machete cuts on him in the process. Continue...
“They told him this is the first in a series of attacks that they will launch on our house and that I( Onazi) will be their target the next time.
“Those guys took their time to take some valuable materials including a car and some cash but I am thankful to God they didn’t do more than that.”
His father who was initially admitted at the hospital shortly after the robbery has now been discharged and the matter reported to the police. But when has hard earned money turn into a public/national money. These people don't always know where to go, smh.
