US Comedian, Tracy Morgan Sues Retail Giant, Wal-Mart Over Deadly Car Crash

TRENTON, N.J. — Tracy Morgan has sued Wal-Mart over last month's highway crash that seriously injured him and killed a fellow comedian.

The lawsuit, filed Thursday in U.S. District Court in New Jersey, claims Wal-Mart was negligent when a driver of one of its tractor-trailers rammed into Morgan's limousine van. The complaint claims the retail giant should have known the driver had been awake for over 24 hours, and that his commute of 700 miles from his home in Georgia to work in Delaware was "unreasonable." It also alleges the driver fell asleep at the wheel.

"As a result of Wal-Mart's gross, reckless, willful, wanton, and intentional conduct, it should be appropriately punished with the imposition of punitive damages," according to the complaint.

Mascherano sustained the gruesome injury at the tail end of regulation play, when he stretched to block a potentially game-ending shot on goal by Dutch player Arjen Robben:

"I thought I had slipped, I thought I wouldn’t make it, but I tore my anus on that move, the pain ... it was terrible," Mascherano said in a post-game interview translated by The Independent. "I threw myself into it. I could have been sent off. It could have been a penalty but anyone could have done that, I had the luck to get there."
Earlier in the match, Mascherano knocked heads with another player, collapsed, and was helped off the

Highlighting the major controversial issues during the tenure, he said “I took certain decisions that I did not market very well. But because of the hunger in trying to develop our people, because of the hunger in trying to convert civil service environment to an economic environment, I over pushed our people.

It was the present Governor, Rochas Okorocha, that organised the Okada riders to institute an action against the state government in Enugu and asked them to march round the whole of Imo State to demonstrate against

Will Nigerians Pay to Watch Television in 2015? (You need to read this)

Nigerians would have to pay fees for digital terrestrial television broadcasting by 2015, according to the Federal Government.

And now, as we are undertaking a new format, we are taking advantage of the digital technology and looking beyond sending people to go from place to place to collect fees for broadcast content.
Under this new regime, Maku explained that "for anyone to have access to television content one has to

'Our National Anthem is very Bland and Uninspiring' - Singer Etcetera Writes again...

After hearing of the proposal of some delegates at the ongoing confab that we should revert to the old national anthem, I sat by my piano and played both anthems. Playing and singing to the current anthem “Arise O’ Compatriot” was basically easy because I had done that countless times and I wasn’t even looking at the piano keys as I sang through the verses.
I downloaded the lyrics of the old anthem just to be sure I was singing the right words. I know the tune by heart because my dad frequently sang it to me when I was a little school boy. And I felt nothing as usual singing it. But right from the first line of the old anthem “Nigeria We Hail Thee,” I felt a strange sense of pride and patriotism. I felt very strange because like every Nigerian, I am saddened that as a country, we have lost our way.
We are a giant tied to undeveloped nations, and kept in bondage by our leaders whose corruption and greed demonstrate a lack of love for their own people. As I got to the point that

Female presidential aide ‘assaults Delta PDP chairman’

Hell was let loose yesterday in Asaba, the capital of Delta state, when the Special Adviser on Inter-governmental Affairs to President Goodluck Jonathan, Mariam Ali reportedly slapped the state chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Peter Nwaoboshi, “for disobeying her.”
According to reports, trouble started when the chairman asked Mrs. Ali to relocate from her seat during a meeting of the party’s stakeholders.
His reason was that the seat was meant for the state Deputy Governor, Prof. Amos Utuama, who was also scheduled to attend the meeting but she refused to budge.
Angered by his order, the presidential aide allegedly descended on him with what could be termed an executive slap.
It was gathered that some party members present during the confrontation brought the situation under control when Nwaoboshi tried to retaliate.
Nwaoboshi, who later spoke to journalists, said Mariam Ali was the aggressor.
“Despite the provocation, I did not retaliate, even when she slapped me twice and tore my dress to shreds.

Going, going…: PDP, APC disagree over Governor Nyako’s impeachment plot

The battle for supremacy between the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Adamawa has intensified as the plot to impeach Governor Murtala Nyako thickens.
The PDP is reportedly working hard to see Nyako out of the way so as to pave way for the party to recapture a state that was once under their political control. The APC are, however, doing all it can to maintain a hold on Adamawa, a task which is proving increasingly difficult as State lawmakers vow to show Nyako the way out.
Read the report in Punch below:
Sources said the APC thought that it was still premature for Nyako to resign while the leadership of the party was trying to frustrate the impeachment plot.
There were reports that the embattled governor would, on Tuesday, tender his resignation letter and pave way for his deputy, Mr. Bala Ngilari, to be sworn in as governor.
Nyako, who was reported to have left Abuja for Yola, the Adamawa State capital, to resign however made a surprise appearance at the National Council of State meeting on Tuesday.
His spokesman, Ahmed Sajo, was reported on Wednesday as saying that his boss was still

The wife of the current Governor of Ekiti State, Bisi Adeleye-Fayemi, has questioned the honesty and truthfulness of the voting results after the June 21, 2014 governorship election.
During the 50th Anniversary Public Lecture and Award ceremony of the state chapter of the International Federation of Women Lawyers (FIDA) Mrs Fayemi said: "Events unfolding after the June 21 governorship election in the state suggest that the election was manipulated from source. In due course, the full story of how the elections were manipulated against the governor, Dr Kayode Fayemi, would be revealed."
Speaking on the theme "Women yesterday, today and tomorrow – the Ekiti experience," in Ado Ekiti, on Thursday, the governor’s wife expressed her view on the past elections:
"Many armchair analysts and commentators have opined that the electorate embraced patronage, popularly known as ‘stomach infrastructure’, as opposed to sustainable development during the last elections.
I will like to state that we have not heard the last about the election. Two weeks after the immediate
