I Never Attended PDP Convention & I Won't Be Returning To The Party - Obasanjo

Former President Olusegun Obasanjo has restated his last year exit from the Peoples Democratic Party(PDP) to become an elder statesman, saying he left the party when it was still alive.

Obasanjo said having announced his exit from partisan politics publicly, it is unthinkable and preposterous for anybody to contemplate that he would reverse himself and returned to a comatose PDP.

Filipino mothers have bared their chests in an event to promote and raise awareness of the benefits of breastfeeding.

NNPC Fixes N150 Per Litre As Official Price Of Kerosene

The Nigeria Union of Petroleum and Natural Gas Workers (NUPENG) says the Nigeria National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) has fixed N150 per litre as the official depot price of kerosene.

Alhaji Tokunbo Korodo, the South-West Chairman of the union, disclosed this in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Lagos today.

“The NNPC has fixed N150 per litre as the new depot price of kerosene and has directed all its depots and private depot to comply with the directive. This did not include the transportation of the product or several levies and bank interests paid by marketers.

Flooding: NEMA Warns Communities Along River Niger To Evacuate

The National Emergency Management Agency has advised communities, along the River Niger to evacuate immediately to safer grounds over the likelihood of floods that may occur any moment from now.

The Director General of NEMA, Muhammad Sani-Sidi, who gave the advice said the agency received alerts of the flood from information given by authorities in the Republic of Niger that the present water level in the river had reached a point that might result in the flood that could be compared with the unfortunate experience of 2012.

Breaking:Two female cops attacked with a machete by man yelling ‘allahu akbar’ in Belgium

Two female police officers were attacked in front of the police station in the city of Charleroi in Belgium, this afternoon by a man shouting ‘allahu akbar’.
One is believed to be seriously injured with wounds to her face. A source said: “She was rushed to hospital and is in a particularly bad way.”

Glo tops gainers' chart in June internet subscriber acquisitions

Globacom, the grandmasters of data, has again emerged as the number one telecommunications company in Nigeria in the area of acquisition of internet subscribers in the month of June.
Latest figures released by the industry regulator for the month of June showed that Globacom added a total of 272,674 new subscribers during the month, moving from 26,355,391 internet subscribers in May to 26,628,065 at the end of June.
Airtel came second with 17,325,423 subscribers in June, thus increasing its internet subscribers by 45,334, having ended the month of May with 17,280,089 internet subscribers.
The duo of Etisalat and MTN, however, recorded losses. Etisalat lost a total of 254,511 internet

Black 18 year old teen shot and killed by the Police in Chicago

An 18 year old Chicago black teen, Paul O'Neal who was in a stolen car was being chased by the police and fatally shot in the back. In the video above, after the police chase, the teen ran out of the car and was chased on foot by cops who eventually apprehended him and cuffed his arms, with blood oozing from his back. Initially the police didn't know the teen had been shot, when they realized he had been shot, they all became confused and asked each other who may have shot the teenager.
Rather than call for the medics, they were seen in the videos on their body camera trying to figure out who shot the boy. One of them was even worried that he would be on desk duty for the next 30 days.

SUV crashes into Oando filling station in Ikoyi (PHOTOS)

A Toyota Highlander on full speed trying to avoid a car ran into the Oando filling station on Awolowo way, Ikoyi, around 12:45am early this morning. A 300 Level Law student of Obafemi Awolowo University, Praise had gone to the school in the morning of that day to check whether her things were still intact in her hostel before resumption after some weeks of strike by lecturers in the institution.

World's Shortest Couple Set To Tie The Knot

The 'world's shortest couple' - with a combined height of just 5ft 10in are set to tie the knot.

Standing just 34.8in tall, Paulo Gabriel da Silva Barros, popped the question to 35.2in girlfriend, Katyucia Hoshino in front of their closest friends at a sushi restaurant in their hometown of Itupeva, Brazil .

13 Killed In Fire At A Birthday Party In France

At least 13 people have reportedly been killed at a birthday party for young people in France last night.

Six more were injured during the horrific incident in Rouen, after fire ravaged a bar in the capital of the French region of Normandy.

HIV+ Man Who Gets Paid To Have Sex With Teenagers Denied Bail

A Malawi court today denied bail to an HIV-positive man who is facing charges of having sex with more than 100 adolescent girls as part of initiation rites into womanhood.

Eric Aniva, 45, was arrested last month, after he revealed that families paid him between four and seven dollars to have sexual intercourse with their children, in a traditional custom meant to prepare them to become good wives.

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), on Tuesday, August 2, arrested a level six officer of the Accounts Department of the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria, FAAN, Christy Olabode, for an alleged fraud to the tune of N100 million.
Also arrested was her younger brother, Abdul-Shehu Obaze, a staff at the Commercial Department of FAAN in Ilorin, Kwara State, and Dominic Ojo, an IT officer at FAAN Headquarters, Lagos.
